EMS AIRFLOW®

About EMS AIRFLOW®

We are proud to introduce the revolutionary EMS AIRFLOW® Prophylaxis Master as an innovative new paradigm of dental hygiene treatment.
The EMS AIRFLOW is a much more comfortable and gentle way of teeth-cleaning and polishing. It uses a fine stream of compressed air, warm water and very fine powder particles to remove plaque, stubborn stains and superficial calculus across all surfaces of the teeth above and within gum pockets. The results are a more thorough, faster clean with only limited requirements for traditional scalers and ultrasonics.

How does EMS AIRFLOW® and a Guided Biofilm Therapy treatment work?

It is estimated that 1mm of dental plaque contains more than 200 million bacteria. These bacteria gradually develop into a self-sustaining environment known as a ‘biofilm’ and subsequently create optimal conditions for gum disease, tooth decay and negative impacts towards your body’s immune system.
When using the AIRFLOW Prophylaxis Master device, our hygienists will first place a coloured dye on your teeth to highlight any plaque and biofilm present. This aids as an educational tool to show you specific areas you have missed while cleaning. It also guides the AIRFLOW to achieve an extremely thorough and efficient clean by targeting all stained locations. The high pressure particles can access all surfaces of the teeth and remove biofilm from even hard to reach areas traditional scalers can’t reach.

In addition, AIRFLOW® is also a superior option for:

If your teeth are covered with hard calculus, the hygienists may still need to use ultrasonics and handscalers, however thanks to the AIRFLOW® being used first the amount of time required for these are usually reduced.
We look forward to introducing you to this new paradigm of dental cleans and we are confident it will aid in a more comfortable and thorough outcome towards keeping your teeth healthy.
